April 11, 1916 Dublin County Board Minutes (Entertainment Tax)

April 11, 1916 minutes of the Dublin county board meeting at which the board decided to convey their protests at the proposed entertainment duty to members of the Irish Parliamentary Party. While the British government subsequently introduced a levy on all paid entertainment, the GAA was exempt as an amendment was introduced excluding any organisation founded 'with the object of reviving national pastimes’.
